The Block Island forecast shows partly cloudy in the 40s and 50s this Thanksgiving weekend, but it is nothing your favorite scarf and coat can't fix. We've got a busy weekend lined up for you so get off the couch and let's start burning some of those oh-so-worth it calories.

November 28, 29, and 30
This Friday begins the 25th Annual Thanksgiving Weekend Shopping Stroll. There will will be over 35 stores participating in the stroll this year. Shops will be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For a complete list of the stores that will be open, please stop in at the Chamber of Commerce office in Old Harbor to pick up the booklet.
Meet the author
Island Bound Bookstore will host a book signing with Everett Littlefield of his new book. Everett's book is about growing up on Block Island in the 1940's and 50's and is sure to be interesting and funny!
Open houses galore
November 28 and 29 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
The Block Island Conservancy will be hosting an open house at their office on Weldon's Way on Friday and Saturday 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and on Sunday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The Nature Conservancy will host a walk in honor of the late Captain Rob Lewis on Friday, November 28th. Meet at Fred Benson Town Beach at 9:00 am. They will also host an Open House at the 1661 Inn on Friday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Discover handmade treasures, goodies, and art
November 29 from 10:00 am to 2:00pm
The Island Free Library (the five star Island Free Library!) will be hosting an "Indoor Market" on Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Over 25 local craftspeople, bakers and artists have signed up already; it's not to be missed.
Burn off the Thanksgiving calories
November 29 at 1:00 pm
On Saturday at 1:00 the 10th Annual 5K Turkey Trot will take place. Registration will take place at Fred Benson Town Beach beginning at noon or at the Chamber of Commerce office prior to that day. The race begins at 1:00 at Fred. Click for registration form.

The Southeast Lighthouse will be open for tours from 11-2 on Friday and Saturday.
